The Perks of Renting

The landing in front of our house has started to disintegrate. There was always a massive crack running through it, but on Saturday, chunks of cement and wood started raining onto the neighbor's porch below us.

Luckily, the downstairs neighbor is a handyman. He removed the cracked cement and put in some plywood until the landlord can get it fixed. Apparently, all of the wooden supports have started to rot away, so the entire landing may need to be redone.

Muuuuuch safer.

I'm so glad I don't have to pay for this type of stuff.

I'm so glad you don't have to pay for that too. I have only negative perceptions of home-owning. :)

They're replacing the entire landing on Monday. They're putting in new wood and pouring new cement.

I think it'd be interesting to be your downstairs neighbors and come out to find piles of cement on your porch. It'd be disconcerting.
