Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween, friends and family!

This year, we got in the Halloween spirit the week before the big day by playing cartoony zombie games we got for free on the PlayStation Store.

On Halloween night, we drove around our neighborhood admiring the jack-o'-lanterns and spooky decor. Then we carved our own pumpkins while watching Halloween episodes of The Office.

Seth carved the cat with the moon, and I carved the ghost and gravestone. This year we nixed the candles and instead bought little colorful strobing lights. The camera doesn't pick up the blue and green colors very well, but here's an approximation of what they looked like on our porch.

We spent the remainder of the evening playing Costume Quest, a fun downloadable PS3 game that was on sale due to the marvelous holiday.

You play little kids who battle nefarious candy-hungry goblins as you trick-or-treat through the neighborhood. It was delightful. I love Fall holidays!

How did Apollo feel about the cat-in-the-pumpkin? Superior?

WHOA! I am super impressed by the pumpkin carvings! You guys are both wonderful pumpkin artists! Also, it's been so long since I've looked at your blog!! I love the new background. Thanks for recommending Costume Quest and helping to make my Halloween infinitely more Halloweeny.
