In middle school, I was the Fort Knox of secrets. Pantomime zipping my lips, locking them up, throwing away the key, and all that jazz.
These days, I can keep a secret as well as a rusty sieve. I tell Seth EVERYTHING. Even about surprises I concoct for him.
A few weeks ago, Seth and I saw an add announcing that Beauty and the Beast was coming to blu-ray. He was very excited. Beauty and the Beast is one of his favorites (mine, too), and blu-ray is where it's at. So last week I saw this little item at the store and just had to buy it. I figured I would get it now and then save it until Christmas.
I overestimated my self-control.
I kept mt surprise a secret for a whole week, but last night I was bursting at the seams. What can I say? I wanted to see the look on his face when I unveiled it.
I was not disappointed. He was a very happy boy.
So we got pizza, and then I baked my peanut butter cookies (which came out superbly. It was like biting into a layer of velvety peanut butter heaven. I could have died.) and we watched Beauty and the Beast so loud that I'm pretty sure the neighbors could hear every roar.
Blu-ray really is where it's at. I have never really been able to tell a difference before, but Beauty and the Beast was so well done, I was blown away. The picture quality was gorgeous! Seth was so proud that I had my first "real" blu-ray experience. He is trying to turn my into a tech-savvy woman and I have been resistant, so last night was a triumph for him.
Stay-at-home date nights = happy.

Wow Heather you really have fallen.... All I can think of is how well you kept that David secret...
Ugh, I hate keeping secrets from Sam! Especially about things he'll be excited about. However, I have a bit more self-control than you. My surprises usually stay surprises ("usually" because he has an uncanny knack for accidentally guessing them while discussing something else).
And I would like to publicly express my appreciation for your sharing of the peanut butter cookie awesomeness. They were indeed velvety heaven. I shared them with A-Row, and she appreciated them also. We were very happy girls.
Oh, so great! We are the SAME. I cannot keep a secret from Johnny if I life depended on it. So many surprises have been spoiled b/c of me and my big mouth. Johnny is never surprised at Christmas.
And, I LOVE Beauty and the Beast. It is my favorite, too! I wish I could have come and intruded on your night and brought Persie with me!
