Screw 234

The elliptical came today!

I'm so glad the delivery company didn't have the day off, like me. That's what they get for going to the University of Utah.

After first trying to deliver the wrong machine, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum dropped the right product on the sidewalk and drove away in their giant truck, leaving Seth and I to bring the very heavy machine up our windy staircase. Having them bring it up the stairs would have cost and extra 80 bucks, and a few minutes of sweat and effort on our part was definitely worth saving that kind of cash.

Since it was a little too heavy for me to lift, we ended up opening the box outside and bringing it in piece by piece.

Assembly was a breeze! Up until the second-to-last step, that is. The directions to attach the display to the machine called for a part labeled "Screw 234." I looked high and low, and the three missing Screw 234 parts were nowhere to be found.

After about 15 minutes of scouring the directions and the internet for tips on where the three missing Screw 234 parts might be, I ended up calling their tech support dudes. Yeah. They told me that those screws don't come in the lovely little assembly kit. Apparently, the three screws were already screwed into the back of the monitor, and they needed to be unscrewed and then used in assembly. How polite of them to include that step in the written instructions . . .

In any case, we re-arranged the house and successfully assembled our Yowza Largo elliptical (Don't judge the dumb name. It's pretty awesome. It has an iPod docking station and everything.) I took it for a test drive run ellipt whilst watching an episode of Kyle XY (Don't judge that, either. You know you watched it.), and I am very pleased.
