Today marks our 13th trip to Standard Optical in Provo since December in our quest to get Seth a pair of glasses that doesn't cause him perpetual pain. We're on a first-name basis with the office personnel. We see Jason the technician more than we see our families.
Seth's first pair of glasses was too strong and gave him a headache.
The second pair was messed up by the lab techs, who used the first prescription instead of the revised prescription.
The third pair was better, but still headache inducing.
After the third pair, Seth decided to try contacts, hoping that any needed changes would have a quicker turn-around time than the glasses lab. The contacts the doctor recommended were a different brand than Seth is used to, and they rubbed his eyes painfully. But the doctor told him to wear them anyway, promising that his eyes would adjust in time.
They didn't.
Now he has a fourth pair of glasses and a second pair of contacts. We got back from the doctor's office 30 minutes ago, and Seth says these glasses are hurting his head already.
Long story short, don't ever go to Standard Optical in Provo. I'm pretty sure the doctor bought his degree online.
In happier news, my mom is in town this week for her spring break. I took vacation from work on Monday so we could have a girl's day. We ate breakfast at IHOP, got pedicures, and went shopping. It was a wonderful day of pampering.
Moms are great.
